InBody testing

What is it?

The InBody is the most advanced body composition analyzer on the market and is trusted by leading hospitals, universities, professional sports teams and even NASA because of its precision. Take a look on the inside with the most advanced body composition analysis money can buy. Receive a full-page result sheet printout showing your current body fat percentage, basal metabolic rate, segmental muscle and fat balance, body water analysis and visceral fat level. Learn how to fine tune your workouts and nutrition plans for the ultimate performance and health improvement.

How DOes It WOrk?

InBody devices use direct segmental measurement bioelectrical impedance analysis (DSM-BIA) to precisely measure body composition by sending multiple electrical currents through the body, resulting in up to six different impedance readings for the trunk and each of the four limbs.

Why Should I get a Test?

What does your weight really represent? When you step on a scale, you can’t see how much muscle or fat you have. All you can see is how much you weigh. Weight alone is a poor indicator of health because it does not  distinguish fat from muscle. The InBody divides your weight into water, muscle, and fat.

Go beyond the scale with the InBody Test, utilizing a non-invasive body composition procedure that provides a detailed breakdown of your weight in terms of your current muscle mass, body fat, and body water on a full result sheet print out.

Here at Altitude Nutrition & Exercise Consulting we use an InBody 570 to complete body composition testing. Each test takes about 45 seconds.

No more pinching. No more dunking. Get results you can trust so you can reach your health and fitness goals with precision and efficiency.

How much does A Test cost?

The InBody Scale has been found to be 98% as accurate as a DEXA (Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry) scan which is the gold standard when it comes to body composition testing. One major benefit of the InBody Scale over a DEXA scan is that patients do not need to be subjected to any radiation.

Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) is a method of quantifying body composition by introducing an electrical current throughout the body. The InBody uses this method to measure body composition, which divides your weight into different components as mentioned previously, such as water, lean body mass and fat mass, to better understand how changes in diet, lifestyle and training regime are influencing overall body composition.

Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis measures impedance by applying alternating low-level electrical currents through the water in the body. The InBody measures each segment separately and shows the impedance values of all five cylinders of the body at each frequency in the impedance section of the InBody Result Sheet.

Through the use of InBody’s unique and patented technologies, InBody has overcome the traditional limitations of BIA and produced a device that yields incredible precision used in medical, research, and fitness applications around the world.
